Our Story
At the Each One Teach One (EOTO) Star Academy, we started with a simple idea: to make education accessible to youth aging out of foster care, and young adults seeking a second chance at completing their educational goals.
Education is a fundamental right and should not be limited by financial and social barriers. That's why we proudly offer affordable high-quality educational services to students of all walks of life.
Problem
- Each year, approximately 20,000 children age out of foster care annually, instantly losing access to every form of support they have. Due to no fault of their own many of these kids face significant challenges. (source: adoptuskids.org)
- At least 20% become instantly homeless; less than 3% earn a college degree by age 26; only 50% find employment by age 24; 60% of young women who age out end up in the sex industry; 70% of young women are pregnant by 21; and 25% of youth who age out are dealing with PTSD. (source: hopearmy.org)
- Difficulty accessing education, mental health struggles, and lack of support networks, makes it difficult to transition smoothly into adulthood compared to their peers.
Mission
EOTO Star Academy mission is to:
- Provide GED tutoring and guidance to pass this exam, and obtain a high school diploma.
- Provide ASVAB tutoring and guidance to pass this exam, and gain entry into the military.
- Provide life skills and vocational training.
- Support students with financial aid toward school scholarships and resources for daily living expenses.
- Mentor/Counsel students in an effort to prevent risky behaviors like criminal activity, substance abuse, sex industry, and falling victim to human trafficking.
Vision
The EOTO Star Academy vision is to provide ongoing support for the disenfranchised youth in our program via mentoring and counseling. These services are aimed at preventing them from experiencing homelessness, joblessness, and engaging in risky behaviors (i.e. criminal activity, substance abuse, and sex industry.

We award scholarships to help young people who often face significant financial barriers to accessing higher education. Your help allows them to pursue their dreams and improve their future.

We give transitional housing vouchers to homeless youth. These vouchers provide immediate relief with a safe place to stay, and a pathway to stability for young people facing extreme hardship.
